2-(Dimethylaminomethyl) piperidine dihydrochloride, also known as DMAP, is an organic compound. Its chemical formula is C7H10N2 · 2HCl.

Nature:
DMAP is a colorless or white crystal, soluble in water and organic solvents. It is an alkaline substance that neutralizes acidic compounds.

Use:
DMAP is widely used as a catalyst in organic synthesis. It can promote esterification, etherification, amidation and other reactions, and improve the reaction rate and yield. DMAP can also be used as an intermediate in the preparation of other organic compounds.

Preparation Method:
