2-Methoxy-4-pyridinemethanol is a colorless to pale yellow liquid with a special phenolic odor. It is soluble in solvents such as water, ethanol and chloroform at room temperature.

Preparation Method:
The preparation of 2-methoxy-4-pyridinemethanol can be obtained by the reaction of acetylacetone and sodium p-toluenesulfonate. Specific steps are as follows:
1. Dissolve acetylacetone and sodium p-toluenesulfonate in acetonitrile.
2. Add filters and additives, heat to 80-90 degrees Celsius, and react for 16-20 hours in an inert atmosphere.
3. Filtration after cooling to give the product.
