1245906-72-2 - Introduction

Potassium (5-methyl -1, 3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl) trifluoroborate is an organic compound with the chemical formula C7H6BF3N2K. The following is a description of its nature, use, preparation and safety information:

Nature:
Potassium (5-methyl -1, 3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl) trifluoroborate is a white crystalline solid, soluble in water and organic solvents. Its molecules contain thiadiazole and trifluoroboronic acid groups, with strong coordination and catalytic properties.

Use:
Potassium (5-methyl -1, 3,4-thiadiazol -2-yl) trifluoroborate is widely used in chemical synthesis. It can be used as a catalyst for organic synthesis reactions, such as esterification, olefin polymerization and addition reactions. In addition, it can also be used to generate metal complexes, catalyze acid-base reactions or coupling reactions.

Preparation Method:
The preparation of (5-methyl -1, 3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl) potassium trifluoroborate is usually obtained by reacting 5-methyl -1,3,4-thiadiazole with trifluoroboric acid. First, 5-methyl -1,3,4-thiadiazole is reacted with ethyl trifluoroborate or methyl trifluoroborate in an appropriate solvent to give a metal trifluoroborate. Potassium (5-methyl -1, 3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl) trifluoroborate is then prepared by reacting this metal trifluoroborate with a potassium salt.

Safety Information:
Potassium (5-methyl -1, 3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl) trifluoroborate is generally stable under normal conditions, but may decompose under high temperature, high pressure and light. It is irritating and toxic, and direct contact with skin and eyes should be avoided when contacted. Wear protective equipment during use and ensure that it is operated in a well-ventilated environment.
