2.2-Benzyl -1-phenyl indole is reacted with nitric acid to obtain 2-benzyl -5-nitroindole.
3.2-benzyl -5-nitroindole was reacted with ethyl alkanone to obtain 2-benzyl -5-nitroisoindoline.
