Nature:
2-(Pyridine-4)-pyrrolidine is a colorless to pale yellow liquid. It is hydrophobic and has a low volatility. It has a boiling point of 216-218°C and a density of 1.09g/cm3. At room temperature, it can be dissolved in many organic solvents.
Use:
2-(pyridine-4)-pyrrolidine is mainly used in organic synthesis as a catalyst and ligand. It can be used to synthesize drugs, pesticides, dyes and other organic compounds. In addition, it can also be used as a stabilizer for cationic polymers.
Preparation Method:
2-(pyridine-4)-pyrrolidine can be prepared by a variety of methods. The most common method is by the reaction of pyridine and pyrrolidine. Pyridine is first reacted with a suitable basic catalyst to form a pyridine ammonium salt, and then pyrrolidine is added for condensation reaction to obtain the product.
