2,2, +, often referred to simply as TEMPO (n-alkyl-2, 2,6, 6-tetramethylpiperidine oxide), is an important organic synthetic reagent.

Nature:
TEMPO is a solid with a colorless or pale yellow appearance. It is soluble in water, ethanol, ether and many other organic solvents at room temperature. It has a stable free radical structure and has strong oxidation.
