1-Piperidinecarboxylic acid, 4-[2-[(methylsulfonyl)oxy]ethyl]-,1,1-dimethylethyl ester is an organic compound with the following properties:

1-Piperidinecarboxylic acid, 4-[2-[(methylsulfonyl)oxy]ethyl]-,1,1-dimethylethyl ester is mainly used as an intermediate in chemical reactions in organic synthesis, commonly used in the synthesis of drugs, bioactive small molecules and heterocyclic compounds. It can be used as a strong base reagent to participate in nucleophilic substitution reactions, esterification reactions and electrophilic addition reactions.
The preparation of the compound is generally carried out by the following steps:
First, β-Hydroxyethyl piperidine is reacted with tert-butoxycarbonyl (Boc) to form the Boc protection of β-Hydroxyethyl piperidine. Then, by reacting with methylbenzenesulfonyl chloride, a methanesulfonyl group is introduced. Finally, the Boc protecting group was removed by acidolysis of the carbonate to give the final product 1-Piperidinecarboxylic acid, 4-[2-[(methylsulfonyl)oxy]ethyl]-,1,1-dimethylethyl ester.
