Nature:
-Appearance: 3-Chloromandelic acid is a white crystalline solid.
-Solubility: The solubility in water is small, and the solubility in organic solvents (such as alcohol, ether) is high.
-Chemical properties: 3-chroomandelic acid is acidic and can react with alkali to generate the corresponding salt.
Use:
-3-choromandelic acid is often used in organic synthesis as an important intermediate.

Method:
- 3-Chloromandelic acid can be obtained by reacting p-chlorobenzoic anhydride with sodium chloride. First, P-chlorobenzoic anhydride reacts with sodium chloride in an alcohol solvent to produce sodium 3-Chloromandelic acid, which is then treated with acid to obtain 3-Chloromandelic acid.
