18016-58-5 - Introduction
Quercetin, also known as Quercetin glucoramnoside, is a natural plant compound that belongs to the class of flavonoids. Its chemical formula is C21H20O13 and its molecular weight is 448.38g/mol.
Quercetin is mainly found in some plants, such as onions, apples, tea, etc. It has some physiological activities, including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anti-tumor and so on. Therefore, it is widely used in the fields of medicine, health care products and cosmetics.
The preparation of Quercetin is usually carried out by physical extraction and chemical synthesis. Physical extraction is done by extracting Quercetin in the plant and going through a series of refining steps to get the purified product. Chemical synthesis is the use of chemical reaction of quercetin-3-O-glucose and rhamnoside reaction synthesis.
Regarding safety, Quercetin is considered relatively safe at a general dose. But in individual cases, it may cause allergic reactions. Before use, it is recommended to conduct an allergy test. In addition, for specific diseases, pregnant women and children and other special groups, before use should consult the doctor's advice.
