2,2,2-trifluoro-1-(4-hydroxyphenyl)ethanone, also known as TFHA, is an organic compound. The following is an introduction to its nature, use, preparation and safety information:

Nature:
-Appearance: TFHA is a colorless liquid or light yellow oily substance.
-Solubility: It dissolves in many organic solvents, such as ethanol, ether and chloroform.
-Melting point: The melting point of TFHA is 25-27 degrees Celsius.
-Boiling point: Its boiling point is 185-190 degrees Celsius.

Use:
-Chemical synthesis: TFHA can be used as a reagent or catalyst in organic synthesis, and is widely used in the fields of dyes, drugs, medicine and pesticides.
-Reaction medium: Due to its unique properties, TFHA can be used as a non-polar medium and as a solvent and catalyst in some specific organic reactions.
-Flame retardant: The fluorine atom and benzene ring structure of TFHA give it excellent flame retardant properties, so it can also be used as one of the components of flame retardant.

Method:
The preparation method of TFHA includes:
-First prepare substituted benzoic acid:
1. 4-hydroxybenzoic acid and glacial acetic acid are heated to react to generate p-Hydroxybenzoic acid.
2. Add sodium bicarbonate to neutralize the reaction solution.
-Reprepare 2,2,2-trifluoro-1-(4-hydroxyphenyl)ethanone:
Trifluoroacetic anhydride was added to the reaction solution of p-Hydroxybenzoic acid, followed by stirring, and an increase in the temperature of the reaction solution was observed. After completion of the reaction, TFHA was obtained by distillation extraction. The preparation process requires control of parameters such as temperature and reaction time.
