| synthesis method | preparation method of 2-bromo-5-fluorobenzyl alcohol: methyl 2-bromo-5-fluoro-benzoate (1g,4.292 mmol), NaBH4(0.423g,11.159 mmol) and LiCl(0.474g,11.159 mmol) in THF/EtOH(20 ml/10 ml) was stirred overnight. Add aqueous HCl(10 ml,2N) and stir for about 10 minutes. Then remove the organic solvent under low vacuum. The residue was diluted with water and extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was washed with aqueous NaHCO3(10%), water and brine, then dried (MgSO4) and concentrated to obtain the crude product 2-bromo-5-fluorobenzyl alcohol without further purification.
