212210-87-2 - Introduction
Dichloro[(R)-( )-2,2 '-bis(diphenylphosphino)-1,1'-binaphthyl][(1S,2S)-(-)-1, 2-diphenyllethylenediamine] ruthenium(II) is an organometallic complex with the chemical formula [RuCl2((R)-( )-BINAP)((S,S)-DPEN)], where BINAP represents bis (diphenylphosphinic)-1,1 '-binaphthalene and DPEN represents 1,2-diphenylethylenediamine. The following is a description of the properties, uses, preparation and safety information of the compound:
Nature:
-Appearance: It is a yellow to orange crystal or powder substance.
-Solubility: Soluble in ethanol, chloroform and some organic solvents, insoluble in water.
-Melting point: Melts in the range of about 160-165°C.
-Structure: The complex is hexagonal, containing two chloride ions and two ligands.
Use:
-Catalyst: The complex can be used as a chiral catalyst for a variety of organic chemical reactions, such as hydrogenation, asymmetric hydrogenation and carbonylation reactions.
-Organic synthesis: It is also widely used in organic synthesis and can be used to synthesize chiral compounds and organic heterocyclic compounds.
Method:
The synthesis of the complex is usually carried out by solvothermal reaction. The specific preparation process and conditions may vary depending on the research literature, but generally involve combining [RuCl2(DMSO)4](dark red) with (R)-( )-BINAP and (S, the S)-DPEN is heated in an appropriate organic solvent and subsequently purified by crystallization to give the product.
Safety Information:
-Because it is an organometallic complex, it is more stable and safer under general conditions.
-However, as with any organometallic compound, Good Laboratory safety practices should be followed and care should be taken to prevent ingestion, inhalation and skin contact.
