2245-52-5 - Introduction
(4-ethenylphenyl)-N,N-dimethylmethanaminium (also known as (4-ethenylphenyl)-N,N-dimethylmethanaminium) is a quaternary ammonium compound. The following is a description of its nature, use, preparation and safety information:
Nature:
-Appearance: Usually a colorless crystalline solid.
-Solubility: Soluble in water and organic solvents, such as alcohols and ethers.
-Stability: relatively stable under regular conditions, but avoid contact with strong oxidants.
Use:
-Catalyst: A catalyst that can be used as a reducing agent or oxidizing agent in the synthesis of organic compounds.
-Surfactant: Due to its quaternary ammonium salt structure, it can be used as a surfactant for liquid crystal display manufacturing and other fields.
Method:
(4-ethenylphenyl)-N, the preparation of N-dimethylmethanaminium can be achieved by the following steps:
1.4-vinyl phenyl bromide is reacted with N,N-dimethylmethylamine to generate N, n-dimethyl-4-vinylphenylamine.
2. Reacting N, n-dimethyl-4-vinylphenylamine with an acid to generate (4-ethenylphenyl)-N,N-dimethylmethanaminium salt.
3. The produced salt compound is purified by crystallization.
Safety Information:
- (4-ethenylphenyl)-N, the N-dimethylmethanaminium should be operated in a well-ventilated place to avoid inhaling its dust or gas.
-Pay attention to personal protective measures when using, such as wearing gloves and protective glasses.
-Avoid contact with skin and eyes. If there is contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
-Observe relevant safety procedures during storage and handling.
