23405-15-4 - Introduction
Benzoic acid N-hydroxysuccinimide ester (BZ-Osu) is a commonly used chemical reagent with the following properties:
1. Appearance: The BZ-Osu is white or off-white crystalline solid.
2. solubility: it can be dissolved in organic solvents (such as dimethyl sulfoxide, acetonitrile and dichloromethane), poor solubility in water.
3. Stability: BZ-Osu is relatively stable under dry conditions, but may decompose in a humid environment.
One of the main uses of BZ-Osu is as a coupling reagent in chemical reactions. It can react with an amino compound to give the corresponding N-hydroxysuccinimide amide. In addition, BZ-Osu can be used to synthesize amides, peptides and proteins.
The method of preparing the BZ-Osu is as follows:
Benzoic acid is reacted with N-hydroxysuccinimide, usually under alkaline conditions, to form BZ-Osu.

1. BZ-Osu is irritating and direct contact with skin, eyes and mucous membranes should be avoided.
