2-hydroxy-3-nitro-5-(trifluoromethyl)pyridine is an organic compound with the chemical formula C6H3F3N2O3.
Nature:
-Appearance is light yellow to yellow crystals.
-Melting point is 83-85°C.
-Slightly soluble in water, soluble in most organic solvents.
-has a strong oxidation.
Use:
2-hydroxy-3-nitro-5-(trifluoromethyl)pyridine can be used as an appropriate amount of insecticide, a precursor compound of glyphosate and a synthetic intermediate of other pesticides. It can also be used for amino alcohols, Amino ketones and benzylations in organic synthesis.
Method:
2-hydroxy-3-nitro-5-(trifluoromethyl)pyridine can be prepared by the reaction of 2-hydroxy-3-nitro-5-aminopyridine with trifluoromethane.
