The condensation of isovaleraldehyde and acetone in sodium hydroxide solution produces 2-methylhepten-4-keto-6, which is then hydrogenated by palladium and carbon in an autoclave to obtain 2-methyl-6-heptanone. Continue to mix with ammonia alcohol solution and use nickel catalyst to catalyze under pressure amination and hydrogenation to produce 2-amino-6-methylheptane, and finally combine with isovaleraldehyde to reduce to octylamine.
