5157-15-3 - Introduction
3a,6a-Diphenylglycouril is an organic compound with the following properties:
1. Appearance: colorless crystal or white powder.
2. melting point: about 210-213 degrees Celsius.
3. solubility: easy to dissolve in common organic solvents, such as ethanol, dimethyl sulfoxide and dichloromethane, but poor solubility in water.
The main use of 3a, 6a-diphenylglycouril is as an intermediate in organic synthesis.
Preparation Method:
3a,6a-Diphenylglycouril can be synthesized by the following steps:
1. the reaction of glycoluril and methylene triphenylphosphine in anhydrous environment, generate N,N'-diphenyl glycoluril.
2. Under alkaline conditions, N,N'-diphenylglycoluril reacts with sodium methylene bromide to generate 3a, 6a-diphenylglycouril.
