DL-Penicillamine(DL-Penicillamine) is an organic compound with the chemical formula C5H11NO2S. It is an amine compound containing a thiol group.
DL-Penicillamine is mainly used for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and nephrolithiasis and other diseases. It relieves the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis by suppressing the activity of the immune system and treats nephrolithiasis by dissolving nephrolithiasis.
DL-Penicillamine is usually prepared by hydrolysis and deethylation of penicillin (Penicillin). First, penicillin is hydrolyzed to 2-aminophenylacetic acid (2-aminophenylacetic acid), followed by a deethylation reaction to obtain DL-Penicillamine.
