O-methyl-dl-tyrosine, also known as O-methyl-dl-tyrosine, is an amino acid compound containing a methoxy substituent. Its chemical formula is C10H13NO4.
Nature:
O-methyl-dl-tyrosine is a colorless crystalline solid with good stability at room temperature. It has a double beam, that is, can optical rotation. In addition, it is a compound having a bitter taste.
Use:
O-methyl-dl-tyrosine is often used in the field of medicine. Because its structure is similar to tyrosine, it can be used as a substrate for tyrosine hydroxylase (tyrosine hydroxylase), which is used to study biological processes related to tyrosine metabolism. Preparation Method:
The preparation method of O-methyl-dl-tyrosine can be obtained by methoxylation reaction of phenylacetone. First, phenylacetone is subjected to an acid esterification reaction with methanol in the presence of an acid catalyst to obtain methylophenylacetone. Then, the methyl benzene acetone is reacted with sodium borohydride to remove the ester group, and finally a O-methyl-dl-tyrosine is obtained.
