8-Fluoro-2-methylquinoline-4-carboxylicacid - Introduction
It is an organic compound with the chemical formula C11H8FNO2.
Nature:
1. Appearance: White to light yellow crystalline powder.
2. Solubility: soluble in ethanol, dimethyl sulfoxide and dichloromethane, slightly soluble in chloroform, almost insoluble in water.
3. Melting Point: about 130-133 ℃.
Use:
There are certain applications in medicine and agriculture:
1. Medical application: It can be used as an antibacterial active substance, used in the preparation of anti-infective drugs and preservatives.
2. Agricultural applications: can be used as pesticides and fungicides.
Method:
It can be synthesized by the following steps:
1.2-methyl quinoline is reacted with thionyl chloride and sodium acetate to generate 2-methyl quinoline -4-carboxylic acid.
2. Under the catalysis of sodium iodide, 2-methylquinoline-4-carboxylic acid is reacted with fluorinated sulfoxide to obtain pyridine.
