| Overview | Donepezil benzyl bromide hydrochloride is an intermediate for the synthesis of donepezil hydrochloride. Donepezil hydrochloride is a second-generation acetylcholinesterase inhibitor approved by the FDA for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. It was successfully developed by Japan Eisai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. in 1989. It was approved by FDA in November 1996 for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease.
