8449-26-1 - Introduction
1,3-Diphenyl-1,1,3,3-tetramethyl disilazane is an organosilicon compound with the chemical formula C18H23NSi2. It is a colorless liquid with a strong ammonia odor.
1,3-Diphenyl-1,1,3,3-tetramethyldisilazane is mainly used in silicon-catalyzed reactions in organic synthesis, usually as a silicon reagent, a precursor of a silicon thiazole catalyst and an intermediate of a reducing agent. It can also be used as a protective agent for organometallic compounds.
The method for preparing 1,3-Diphenyl-1,1,3,3-tetramethyldisilazane is usually prepared by reacting dibromophenyl and tetramethyldisilylamine under alkaline conditions. The specific reaction steps are as follows:
1. Dissolve tetramethyldisilylamine in ether.
2. Add a basic catalyst (such as triethylamine).
3. Dibromophenyl was added dropwise to the solution.
4. The reaction mixture was separated and acidified with hydrochloric acid solution.
5. Purify the target product by distillation or extraction.
