Dirithromycin is a macrolide antibiotic, which is widely used in clinical treatment of acute attack of chronic bronchitis, acute bronchitis, community acquired pneumonia, pharyngitis and tonsillitis, as well as simple skin and soft tissue infections. It is a good oral substitute for erythromycin. |
| Synthesis | The reported synthesis method of 2-(2-methoxyethoxy) acetaldehyde glycol is mainly based on ethylene glycol monomethyl ether as the starting material and solvent, and an appropriate strong base (sodium metal or sodium hydride), through the williamsom ether synthesis method, the strong alkaline intermediate sodium 2-methoxyethanol, 2-(2-methoxyethoxy) acetaldehyde diol is prepared by reacting with the diol of halogenated acetaldehyde in one pot. |
