| In vitro study | In porcine aortic vascular smooth muscle cells, BQ-123 selectively inhibited ETA-mediated contraction. In rat vascular smooth muscle cells, BQ-123 inhibited inositol phosphate breakdown and DNA synthesis induced by endothelin-1. |
| In vivo study | In rats, BQ-123 (1 mg/kg, I. v.) ameliorated myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury. In rats with pentylenetetrazol (PTZ)-induced tonic-clonic seizures, BQ-123 (3 mg/kg, I. v.) effectively prevented the formation and development of epilepsy. In pregnant C57BL/6 mice, BQ-123 (6.7 mg/kg, I. p.) prevented LPS-induced preterm birth in mice by inducing IL-10 in the uterus and placenta. |
