| pharmacological action | this product shows the effect of inhibiting the secretion of parathyroid hormone (PTH) on normal bovine parathyroid cells and parathyroid cells of patients with secondary hyperparathyroidism caused by chronic renal failure, and its effect is equivalent to that of calcitriol. In renal failure model animals (rats with 5/6 kidney removed and dogs with renal artery ligation), this product can still show an inhibitory effect on PTH secretion without causing an increase in serum calcium levels. The curative effect of this product on bone lesions caused by secondary hyperparathyroidism was studied with nephritis rats. It is believed that this product can reduce bone changes caused by hypermetabolism. In addition, it has the effect of inhibiting fibrous bone formation on bone lesions in dog renal failure models. For normal rats and rats with renal failure, this product inhibits the expression of parathyroid hormone (prepro-PTH)mRNA. In addition, this product acts on osteoblast-like cells and can promote the expression of osteocalcin gene. |
