Properties: N-benzyloxycarbonyl-L-tyrosine is a white crystalline powder with the structural characteristics of phenoxycarbonyl and tyrosine. It dissolves well in organic solvents such as dimethylformamide (DMF) or dichloromethane (DCM).

Purpose: N-benzyloxycarbonyl-L-tyrosine is commonly used in organic synthesis reactions, especially as a protecting group in polypeptide synthesis. By introducing it into the tyrosine molecule, undesired reactions of tyrosine with other compounds during the reaction can be prevented.

Preparation method: N-benzyloxycarbonyl-L-tyrosine can be obtained by reacting tyrosine with N-benzyloxycarbonyl chloride. First, tyrosine is dissolved in a sodium alkaline solution, then N-benzyloxycarbonyl chloride is added, and the reaction is promoted by magnetic stirring during the reaction. Finally, the reaction mixture is neutralized with aqueous ammonia or hydrochloric acid to obtain N-benzyloxycarbonyl-L-tyrosine.
