Pantoprazole is an irreversible proton pump inhibitor that can be activated to sulfenamide in the acidic environment of gastric parietal cells, and then specifically with the final link of gastric acid secretion-Proton Pump (I. E. HtK ATP alcohol) on the thiol by covalent bond, so that the loss of acid secretion function. It is used for duodenal ulcer, gastric ulcer, reflux esophagitis and Zollinger's syndrome, especially for ulcer with bleeding, Vomit or unable to eat, refractory ulcer and acute pancreatitis. It can also be used to prevent stress ulcer caused by major surgery or severe trauma.
