Then in acetonitrile solution, potassium carbonate is used as the acid binding agent, 4-(6-chloro-2-quinoxalinyloxy) phenol is condensed with ethyl α-halogenopropionate to synthesize quinolin. Quetalin can also be prepared by direct action of 2, 6-dichloroquinoxaline and ethyl α-p-hydroxyphenoxypropionate in the presence of potassium carbonate and reflux in acetonitrile solution for 24h.
