carboxyarsenazo - Introduction

carboxyarsenazo iii(carboxyarsenazo iii) is an organic compound with the formula C22H16AsN5NaO10S3. It is a water-soluble red powder with a maximum absorption wavelength in the acidic pH range between 520-540 nm.

carboxyarsenazo III is often used as an indicator and dye in analytical chemistry. It can be used to determine the concentration of metal ions (such as aluminum, cobalt, copper, etc.), as well as the qualitative and quantitative analysis of phosphates and ketones. In addition, due to its absorption wavelength matching the visible light range, carboxyarsenazo iii is also used for fluorescence microscopy in the fields of biochemistry and medicine.

The method for preparing carboxyarsenazo iii is usually by azotization of sodium carbonate (Na2CO3) and 3-hydroxy-4-nitrobenzene, followed by reaction with 2-aminoethanesulfonic acid to obtain a finished product.
