Physical and Chemical Properties | Bioactive 2-Aminoethyl Diphenylborinate (2-APB) is an inhibitor of IP3 receptor and can modulate IP3-induced calcium release. 2-APB can also inhibit the activity of SOC channels and activate TRP channels at high concentrations. |
Use | Use for density determination of flavonoids. Membrane osmotic regulatory factors regulate the release of calcium ions induced by intercellular IP3. |
Risk Codes | 36/37/38 - Irritating to eyes, respiratory system and skin. |

Introduction
Diphenylacid Chinese alias 2-Aminoethyldiphenylborate (2-Aminoethyldiphenylborate, 2-APB). 2-APB is a novel membrane-permeable inositol triphosphate (IP3) receptor calcium antagonist, which inhibits calcium pool-induced calcium pool regulatory channel (SOC) activation and its mediated calcium influx. The IC50 is 42 μM, but it does not affect the binding of IP3 to its receptor. Its inhibitory effect on calcium ion release can be correspondingly enhanced with the increase of 2-APB concentration (>90 μM).
application
2-APB regulates TRP ion channels and blocks TRPC1,TRPC3,TRPC5,TRPC6,TRPV6,TRPM3,TRPM7,TRPM8 and TRPP2, of which 2-APB in vivo intervention can down-regulate TRPM7 expression and inhibit the progress of its related myocardial hypertrophy. In the absence of other stimulating factors, 2-APB can stimulate TRPV1,TRPV2 and TRPV3;2-APB selectively and specifically blocks some slit junction channel subtypes.
