Physical and Chemical Properties | Chemical properties yellow powder. Melting point 134 ℃, insoluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, soluble in grease and mineral oil, soluble in acetone and benzene. It is an orange-red solution in ethanol; it is magenta in concentrated sulfuric acid, and orange-yellow precipitate is produced after dilution; it is a red solution after heating in concentrated hydrochloric acid, and after cooling, it forms dark green hydrochloride crystals. |
