chemical properties
Colorless to light yellow solid. Soluble in acetone and ethanol.
use
1. Used as an intermediate for the drug pyrimethamine and used in the synthesis of medicines and dyes.
2, p-chlorobenzyl, that is, p-chlorobenzene acetonitrile, is an intermediate for the preparation of 3-methyl-2-(4-chlorophenyl) butyric acid, which can be used to prepare fenvalerate, pyrethroid and other pyrethroid insecticides, and can be used in the pharmaceutical industry to prepare pyrimethamine.
3. Intermediate of drug pyrimethamine. Used in the manufacture of p-chlorobenzyl alcohol, p-chlorobenzaldehyde, p-chlorobenzene acetonitrile, etc.
4. synthesize intermediates of ER-330 fluorescent whitening agents, and can also be used in pesticides, medicines, etc.
production method
1. It is obtained by the reaction of p-chlorobenzyl and sodium cyanide. Add p-chlorobenzyl chloride and bromelide to the reaction pot, heat to 100 ℃, slowly add sodium cyanide aqueous solution, and react at 100-104 ℃ for 5h (add sodium cyanide for 3h, keep warm for 2h). Then water is added to dissolve sodium chloride, and the water layer is removed to obtain crude paracyrenes, distillation under reduced pressure, and 160(2.66kPa) fraction is collected to obtain the finished product. The yield is more than 81%. The product can also be prepared by refluxing benzyl chloride and sodium cyanide in ethanol at 83-85 ℃ for 4 hours. The industrial intermediate is a yellowish liquid containing p-cyanobenzyl ≥ 90%. Raw material consumption quota: 1432 kg/t of p-chlorobenzyl chloride (92%), 450 kg/t of sodium cyanide (95%) and 18 kg/t of neogeramine (above 90%).
2. The preparation method is to add solid sodium cyanide and water to the reactor, heat to 40°C to dissolve sodium cyanide, add a phase transfer catalyst, and then dropwise add p-chlorobenzyl, dropwise add temperature 40~60 ℃, after dropwise add, stir for reaction at 85 ℃ for 4 hours, and cool and post-process to obtain p-chlorobenzyl.
