(E)-1,3-Octadiene - Introduction
1,3-octadiene (1,3-octadiene) is a diolefin with eight carbon atoms. It has a colorless liquid, has a unique smell, flammable characteristics.
1,3-octadiene is mainly used in organic synthesis reactions. It is an important intermediate in the preparation of rubber, polymers and other organic compounds. It can be used to prepare linear polymers, such as polyoligobutadiene, as well as crosslinked polymers, such as thermoplastic elastomers. In addition, 1,3-octadiene can also be used as a solvent and diluent in the reaction process.
The preparation method of 1,3-octadiene is usually obtained by multi-step reaction synthesis of propylene. The specific method involves the hydrogenation of propylene to obtain 1-octene first, and then the reaction with acetylene to obtain 1,3-octadiene.
When using 1,3-octadiene, you need to pay attention to its flammability and volatility. It should be stored in a closed container and avoid contact with substances such as oxygen, strong oxidants and strong acids. Proper protective measures must be followed and appropriate personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses, gloves and protective clothing, must be used. In addition, the operation should be carried out in a well-ventilated area to avoid the accumulation of explosive concentrations of gas. In case of leakage or accident, appropriate emergency measures shall be taken immediately and relevant safety regulations shall be followed.
