Overview | 3-chloro-2-hydroxybenzene belongs to benzene derivatives, which can be used as pharmaceutical and chemical synthesis intermediates. |
preparation | to a stirred solution of 2-chlorophenol (20.0g,155.60mmol) in acetonitrile (200mL) at room temperature mgCl 2(22.2g,233.35mmol) and triethylamine (59.03g,583.39mmol) were added to the solution. Paraformaldehyde, 0.52g,1.05mol) was added to the mixture and then refluxed for 4 hours. The resulting mixture was cooled to room temperature, quenched with 2N HCl, extracted with ether, dried over MgSO4, filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure. The crude compound was purified by silica gel column chromatography to give the title compound 3-chloro-2-hydroxybenzene. |
emergency | if inhaling 3-chloro-2-hydroxybenzene, move the patient to fresh air; if the skin is in contact, take off the contaminated clothing and rinse the skin thoroughly with soap and water. If you feel uncomfortable, seek medical advice, and immediately see a doctor; If you eat, immediately gargle, prohibit emetic, should immediately see a doctor. |
