1,2-(ISOPROPYLIDENEDIOXY)BENZENE - Introduction
2,2-dimethyl -1,3-benzodioxene, also known as DB (1,3-dimesityl-2, 3-dihydro-1H-1, fenoxil), is an organic compound. The following is a description of its nature, use, formulation and safety information:
Nature:
2,2-dimethyl -1,3-benzodioxene is a yellow crystal or powder with a high melting point and boiling point. It is stable at room temperature, insoluble in water, but soluble in organic solvents such as methanol, ethanol and ester solvents.
Use:
2,2-dimethyl -1,3-benzodioxene is mainly used as a catalyst in organic synthesis reactions, especially in metal organic chemistry and hydrocarbon functional group chemistry. It can be used to synthesize a variety of compounds, such as organometallic compounds containing the main group, coordination polymers and semiconductor materials.
Preparation Method:
2,2-dimethyl -1,3-benzodioxanes are generally prepared by synthetic methods. A common method is to use a phenylphosphine complex to react with p-methylphenylmagnesium iodide to give 2,2 '-dimethyl -1,3-diphenyldioxane. Then, 2,2 '-dimethyl-l, 3-diphenyldioxane is reacted with 2,3-dichloro-l, 4-diphenylenone, replacing the carbonyl group with the structural unit of the benzodioxane by a substitution reaction.
Safety Information:
2,2-dimethyl -1,3-benzodioxene is relatively stable and harmless under general conditions. However, it is still a chemical and appropriate safety measures should be taken. During the operation, contact with skin and eyes should be avoided, and personal protective equipment should be used if necessary. It should be used in a well-ventilated place and avoid inhaling its dust and vapor. For accidental exposure or ingestion, seek medical help immediately and carry the product safety instructions for diagnosis and treatment.
