Application | 1,3,5,7-tetraphenyladantane is a hydrocarbon derivative that can be used as a raw material for organic synthesis. |
Uses | 1,3,5,7-tetraphenyladamantane is an organic intermediate. For example, a new type of aromatic sulfonate flame retardant can be prepared-diamond -1,3,5,7-tetraphenylsodium sulfonate. The flame retardant has a highly symmetrical structural feature, one diamond -1,3,5,7-four p-phenyl sodium sulfonate molecule contains 4 p-benzene sodium sulfonate groups, and its expected flame retardant effect should be far superior to general aromatic sulfonate flame retardants, especially when combined with silicone flame retardants, Even in the case of extremely low addition, the ideal flame retardant effect can be achieved. |
preparation | 1,3,5,7-tetraphenyladamantane preparation: 5.0g(23.2mmol)1-bromoadamantane is dissolved into a three-mouth bottle containing 30.92ml(348mmol) of benzene solution, which is equipped with magnetic stirring, condenser tube and thermometer, then 5.0ml(44.5mmol) of tert-butyl bromide and 0.5g(3.75mmol) of aluminum trichloride were added. The mixture is heated and refluxed for 1h, cooled to room temperature and poured into the ice water mixture, then added with ether stirring, collected precipitate, naturally dried, washed and purified with chloroform in Soxhlet extractor for 24h. The obtained precipitate was 1,3,5,7-tetraphenyladamantane, which was dried at 50 ℃ for 5h to obtain 4.5g of product with a yield of 44.1%. |
