Bis(3-Chloroisobutyl) tetramethyl disiloxane is a colorless to light yellow liquid with low volatility and weak odor. It is stable at room temperature, not easy to burn, soluble in organic solvents such as benzene, alcohol and ketone, and insoluble in water.
Use:
Bis(3-Chloroisobutyl) tetramethyl disilane is commonly used as an intermediate in the synthesis of organosilicon compounds. It can be used as additives in lubricants, adhesives, anti-sticking agents and coatings. In the field of medicine and cosmetics, it is also used as an additive to preparations and as a surfactant.
Method:
Bis(3-Chloroisobutyl) tetramethyl disiloxane is usually prepared by reacting 1,3-diiodoisobutyl substitution reaction with tetramethylchlorosilane.
