Physical and Chemical Properties | Triazamidine, also known as benier. This product is yellow or orange crystalline powder, odorless. It turned orange-red in light and heat. Dissolved in water, almost insoluble in ethanol, insoluble in chloroform and ether. |
pharmacological effects | triazamidine belongs to aromatic diamidine, which is a traditional broad-spectrum anti-hematozoa medicine. it has good therapeutic effects on pear-shaped insects, trypanosoma and edge insects (invisible insects) in livestock, but the preventive effect is poor. It has a good effect on mild cases. One medication can drive out the worms, but it has a poor effect on severe cases. This product has a good effect on equine disease and a poor effect on bovine trypanosomiasis. Since camels are sensitive to this product, they are not suitable for the treatment of camel trypanosomiasis. Its insect resistance is related to interfering with aerobic glycolysis and DNA synthesis of insects. |
Function and use | Triazamidine is a traditionally used broad-spectrum anti-blood protozoa medicine, which is effective against trypanosomes, pear-shaped worms and edge worms (invisible bodies). After medication, the blood concentration is high, but the duration is short, so it is mainly used for treatment and the preventive effect is poor. This product selectively blocks the DNA synthesis or replication of the trypanosomal matrix, and irreversibly binds to the nucleus, so that the trypanosomal matrix disappears and cannot divide and reproduce. It is mainly used for trypanosomiasis evanii and equine disease caused by trypanosomiasis. In addition, it has therapeutic effect on babesiasis and Taylor disease caused by pear-shaped insects, but the preventive effect on most pear-shaped diseases is not good. When the dose is insufficient, both pear-shaped worms and trypanosomes can develop drug resistance. |
adverse reactions | (1) this product is highly toxic and has a small safety range. in case of overdose, the cow will lie restless, heartbeat will speed up, muscle tremor and salivation. After treatment, there are sweating, salivation, abdominal pain and other reactions. Mild reactions will recover on their own after a few hours, and symptomatic treatment such as atropine and infusion is required for severe reactions. (2) The injection is irritating to local tissues, and the sheep reaction is strong. It is appropriate to inject deep intramuscular injection. (3) Large dose can reduce milk yield of dairy cows. |
precautions | camels are sensitive to this product, so it is advisable not to use it. Horses are more sensitive and should be cautious when using large doses. Buffalo is more sensitive than cattle, especially in continuous application, small doses should be used. |
