1-(2-Chloro-1-methyllethyl) pyrrolidinehydrochloride, chemical formula C8H16ClN · HCl, is an organic compound. It is a white crystalline solid, soluble in water and some organic solvents.
The compound has certain uses in the field of medicine. It can be used as an intermediate of anticholinesterase preparation for the preparation of drugs such as amino phenol isopropyl ester (Atracurium) and so on. Isopropyl acetaminophen is a muscle relaxant commonly used during anesthesia.
The method for preparing 1-(2-Chloro-1-methyllethyl) pyrrolidinehydrochloride can be obtained by reacting 1-pyrroleacetone with chloropropane. First, 1-pyrroleacetone is reacted with hydrochloric acid to give 1-(1-chloropropyl) pyrrolidine, and then further reacted with hydrochloric acid to give 1-(2-Chloro-1-methylethyl)pyrrolidinehydrochloride.
