Terpinen-4-ol, also known as 4-methyl-3-pentanol, is an organic compound.
Nature:
-Appearance is colorless or slightly yellow oily liquid.
-Has a special rosin smell.
-Soluble in alcohols, ethers and dilute solvents, insoluble in water.
-with many organic compounds can occur esterification, etherification, alkylation and other reactions.
Use:
- Terpinen-4-ol can be used as solvents, plasticizers and surfactants.

Preparation Method:
The preparation methods of Terpinen-4-ol mainly include the following:
-Alcoholysis of terpineol ester: The turpentine ester is reacted with excess phenol in the presence of an appropriate catalyst to obtain Terpinen-4-ol.
-Alcoholysis method by rosin: The rosin is subjected to alcoholysis reaction by acid catalyst in the presence of alcohol or ether to obtain Terpinen-4-ol.
-Through the synthesis of turpentine acid: the appropriate compound and turpentine reaction, after a series of steps to obtain Terpinen-4-ol.
