Conjugated diene | Interpentadiene (PD) is a very rich conjugated diene in the C5 fraction of petroleum cracking. Because its boiling point is very close to the other components in the C5 fraction, it has been used as a raw material for synthetic petroleum resin or directly as a fuel. Insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol, ether, acetone, benzene. It is irritating to human eyes, skin, mucous membranes and respiratory tract. It is mainly used to make polym-pentadiene resin and also used in organic synthesis. The main industrial use is to produce petroleum resin. Interpentadiene petroleum resin is one of the main uses of interpentadiene, which belongs to one of C5 aliphatic petroleum resins. The main link of this kind of petroleum resin is aliphatic hydrocarbon structure, which has the characteristics of low acid value, good miscibility, good adhesion, water resistance, ethanol resistance and chemical resistance. With the continuous development of m-pentadiene petroleum resin technology, it is widely used in pressure-sensitive adhesives, light-colored hot melt adhesives, light-colored hot melt marker paints, hot melt coatings, rubber tackifiers, paints and printing ink additives. Figure 1 is the structural formula of m-pentadiene. |
m-pentadiene petroleum resin | m-pentadiene petroleum resin can be divided into the following three types according to different synthetic raw materials: ① polymerization with crude m-pentadiene as the main component, and crude m-pentadiene mainly comes from the remaining fraction (containing m-pentadiene, isoprene, etc.) after the C5 fraction separates cyclopentadiene and C4; ② polymerization with isoprene concentrate as raw material, which is obtained by separating isoprene and cyclopentadiene from C5 fraction. this raw material basically does not contain isoprene and cyclopentadiene; ③ the first two petroleum resin products as the main raw materials are modified to obtain modified isoprene petroleum resin. |
