production method | is obtained by reacting phenyl isothiocyanate with sodium azide. 150ml of water, 67.5G of phenyl isothiocyanate and 9.8g of sodium azide were mixed with stirring and refluxed until clear for about 5-6H. Upon cooling, the 1-phenyltetrazole-5-thiol sodium salt was filtered (sodium salt [15052-19-4]). The sodium salt (filtrate) was acidified to Ph 2 with hydrochloric acid to precipitate a white solid. The crystals were filtered, washed with water, and dried to obtain a crude product. The product was recrystallized from dilute ethanol, and the yield was above 90%. |
