Use | 1-methylaminoanthraquinone, obtained by bromination. Bromine was added to a mixture of 1-methylaminoanthraquinone and pyridine and heated for 6h with stirring. After cooling, the solid is filtered off, the pyridinium hydrobromide is removed with hot water and dried to give 4-bromo-1-methylaminoanthraquinone in 70-74% yield. |
