Physical and Chemical Properties | This product is pure white crystals, m.p.148.5 ~ 149.5 ℃, insoluble in benzene, toluene and other aromatic hydrocarbons, soluble in acetone, chloroform, dimethylformamide and other organic solvents. |
Uses | 1-isopropyl-3-tert-butylthiourea is abbreviated as thiourea, which is an intermediate of the insecticide buprofezin. |
Production method | The preparation method is the reaction of tert-butyl isothiocyanate and isopropylamine to form thiourea. Isopropylamine and toluene are vacuum pumped into the reaction kettle, and tert-butyl isothiocyanate is added dropwise by stirring at 10~25 ℃, the dropwise is finished within about 1~2h, the temperature is kept warm and stirred for 2~4h, the centrifuge is put into filtration after the reaction is finished, the filtrate is recovered and applied, and the filter cake is dried to obtain solid thiourea. |
