103856-74-2 - Introduction
5-Methyl-1-(2-nitrophenyl)-phenyl acid is an organic compound with the chemical formula C12H10N4O4.
Its properties are as follows:
Appearance: White crystalline solid
melting point: 152-155 ℃
Solubility: Insoluble in water, soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and dichloromethane
Its main uses include:
1. as a pharmaceutical intermediate: can be used to synthesize other organic compounds, such as drug molecules.
2. As pesticide intermediates: can be used to synthesize active ingredients of pesticides.
Its preparation method is generally carried out by the following steps:
1. First, 2-nitrobenzoic acid reacts with 2-acetylacetone under alkaline conditions to generate 2-acetylacetone-2-nitrobenzoic acid.
2. Subsequently, 2-acetylacetone-2-nitrobenzoic acid is reacted with dimethyl malonate to produce methyl 5-methyl -1-(2-nitrophenyl)-1H-pyrazole-3-carboxylate.
3. Finally, the methyl ester compound obtained in the previous step is hydrolyzed under strong alkali conditions to obtain the target product 5-Methyl-1-(2-nitrophenyl)-phenyl acid.
Regarding safety information, the compound has certain toxicity and should follow safe operating procedures. During use, ventilation should be strengthened to avoid contact with skin and eyes. Wear protective gloves, goggles and dust masks when used under unsuitable conditions. In addition, it should be stored in a dry, clean, and ventilated place, away from open flames and high temperatures.
