103890-74-0 - Introduction
4-(2-Bromophenyl)-1,4-dihydro-2,6-dimethyl -3,5-pyridinedicarboxylic acid diethyl ester, often abbreviated as BPAE.
Nature:
BPAE is a colorless liquid with a distinctive odor. It has a molecular formula of C18H18BrNO4 and a molecular weight of 392.25g/mol. BPAE has a density of approximately 1.365 g/mL, a boiling point of 426.8°C, and a flash point of 230°C.
Use:
BPAE is mainly used as an intermediate in organic synthesis and has a wide range of applications in pharmaceutical synthesis and agriculture. It can be used to synthesize a variety of pharmaceuticals and pesticides.
Preparation Method:
The preparation method of BPAE is complicated. A commonly used synthetic method is by condensation of 2-bromobenzeneacetic acid with 2,6-lutidine followed by esterification with glycolic acid to give BPAE.
Safety Information:
BPAE needs to be safe during use. It may have irritating and damaging effects on the eyes, skin and respiratory tract. Therefore, it is necessary to wear protective glasses, gloves and protective masks during operation to ensure a well-ventilated working environment. Any area exposed to BPAE should be rinsed immediately with plenty of water. If you feel unwell, you should seek medical attention in time. During storage, BPAE should be kept in a sealed container, away from fire and oxidizing agents to avoid fire or explosion.
