Physical and Chemical Properties | Pure methyl sulfide ammonium salt is white needle-like crystal, m.p.154 ~ 156 ℃, fragrant smell, industrial water solution is colorless or light yellow transparent liquid, the content of 38% ~ 42% when the relative density is 1.150~1.175(20 ℃), there are special odor, poor thermal stability, when the acid to generate sulfide. |
Uses | O,O-dimethyl dithiophosphate ammonium salt is referred to as methyl sulfide ammonium salt, which is an intermediate of the organophosphorus insecticide dimethoate. |
Production method | The preparation method is to react methyl sulfide with ammonium bicarbonate to prepare methyl sulfide ammonium salt. Under stirring, 20kg of kerosene, 500kg of water and 300kg of ammonium bicarbonate are sequentially put into the reaction kettle. Finally, methyl sulfide is added dropwise, the pH of the reaction solution is controlled to be 6~7, stirring is stopped, standing for 20min, filtering, standing for stratification, and methyl sulfide ammonium salt aqueous solution is obtained. NaHCO3, NaOH, etc. can also be used instead of NH4HCO3 to prepare methyl sulfide sodium salt. |
