1101183-40-7 - Introduction
2-(K)-propionic acidhydrochloride (2-(2-propylbenzimidazol-1-yl)-propionate) is an organic compound with a molecular formula of C14H18ClN3O2 and a molecular weight of 297.77g/mol. It is a white crystalline solid, stable at room temperature. The compound is mainly used as a pharmaceutical intermediate.
2-()-propionic acidhydrochloride has anti-ulcer and anti-inflammatory effects and can be used to treat diseases such as gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer and peptic ulcer. It is also used as a non-selective angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor.
The method for preparing 2-()-propionic acidhydrochloride is mainly by esterifying 2-propyl benzimidazole with propionic acid, and then adding hydrochloric acid to prepare hydrochloride.
Regarding safety information, the toxicity of this compound is low, but the safety measures for general laboratory operations should still be followed. Wear appropriate protective equipment, such as lab gloves and goggles, to prevent contact with skin and eyes. Care was taken to prevent inhalation or ingestion of the compound during operation. In case of accidental contact or accidental inhalation, the affected area should be cleaned promptly and medical help should be sought.
