Use:
3,3, 3-Trifluoro-2, 2-dimethylpropionyl chloride is an important organic synthesis reagent, which is commonly used in chemical protection and substitution reactions in organic synthesis reactions. It can be used for the preparation of compounds with pharmacological and agro-pharmaceutical applications, such as glyphosate, triazuron, flurbiprofen and the like.
Method:
3,3, 3-Trifluoro-2, 2-dimethylpropanoyl chloride can be prepared by the following steps:
1. First, 2,2-dimethylpropionyl chloride is reacted with trifluoromethanesulfonic acid to generate 3,3, 3-trifluoro-2, 2-dimethylpropionyl trifluoromethanesulfonate.
2. The resulting triflate was then treated with sodium chloride to remove the triflate group to give 3,3, 3-trifluoro-2, 2-dimethylpropanoyl chloride.
