3-Methoxymethylpiperidine (3-methoxylpiperidine) is an organic compound whose molecular formula is C8H17NO, and its structure contains a piperidine ring and a methoxymethyl group.
Nature:
-Appearance: 3-Methoxymethylpiperidine is a colorless to pale yellow liquid.
-Solubility: Soluble in most organic solvents, such as ethanol, acetone and dimethyl ketone.
-Melting point:-70 ℃
-Boiling point: 165-166 ℃
-Density: 0.851 g/mL
Use:
-3-Methoxymethylpiperidine is commonly used as an intermediate in drug synthesis. It can react with other compounds to generate a biologically active molecular structure for the synthesis of drugs, pesticides and other organic compounds.
-It is also used as a raw material in chemical reagents and catalysts.
Method:
3-Methoxymethylpiperidine can be synthesized by the following steps:
1. In the presence of formaldehyde, methanamine and acetonitrile were reacted to obtain N-methyl formamide.
2. N-methylformamide is reacted with chlorinated acetophenone to generate N-(3-chloromethylphenyl) formamide.
3. Reaction of N-(3-chloromethylphenyl) formamide with benzylamine in the presence of sodium carbonate gives 3-methoxymethylpiperidine.
Safety Information:
When using or handling 3-methoxymethylpiperidine, the following safety measures need to be observed:
-Avoid contact with skin, eyes and taking. In case of contact, flush the affected area promptly with plenty of water and seek medical help.
-Personal protective equipment such as goggles, gloves and face shields should be used during operation.
-Use in a well-ventilated place to avoid inhaling its vapor or mist.
-Store in a dry, cool place, away from fire and combustibles.
